This version of the Sculptomatic proposition was made for a gallery in Holland using locally sourced clay and responding to the particular archtecture of this unusual purpose built Sculpture Gallery.
The work involved a ‘dumb waiter’ lift made to transport clay forms made by Dutch and English participants to the second floor of the gallery. A motorised conveyor belt/ diving board transported the forms to a point 5 metres above a display case.
Like Sculptomatic 1 the exhibition comprised of all of the working mechanisms and materials used to make the Sculpture alongside a 2 hour video of the vitrine during the process and a wall of photographs of the clay forms before they went on to the conveyor belt.
